Investments

Malkin Properties is a national, commercial real estate investment firm whose roots extend back to the 1930s, when founder Lawrence A. Wien originated the practice of syndicating ownership of income-producing property.

In the early 1950s, Mr. Wien structured the first public real estate syndications, and in the following decades he, together with his son-in-law, Peter Malkin, assembled an enduring portfolio of syndicated properties, including the Empire State Building.

Today, under the direction of president Anthony Malkin, the firm’s partnerships own approximately 11.0 million square feet of trophy office property in the greater New York City area, as well as 1.9 million square feet of retail space, 1.4 million square feet of warehouse/distribution space and 2,700 multi-family units in 15 states.

In addition to the firm’s direct equity investment platform, our Strategic Capital program actively originates mezzanine loans and preferred-equity investments nationwide to assist real estate sponsors in recapitalizing and acquiring property.

We maximize investment performance through a hands-on turn-key approach which implements the full range of disciplines of our vertically integrated investment platform, including: finance, leasing & marketing, property management, asset management, legal, construction, and accounting.

Malkin principals commit capital side-by-side with investors toward one goal: superior absolute returns and preservation of capital, through all cycles.

We are investment oriented, not transaction driven.
