March 16, 2010

HARRISON, N.Y. – Investment management firm Buckland Partners Management Company, LLC will move its offices to 500 Mamaroneck Avenue in Harrison, N.Y. from its current space in Darien, Conn., according to Jeffrey H. Newman, executive vice president of Malkin Properties, the marketing and managing agent for the building.

Buckland Partners manages several funds, including Buckland Partners L.P., a diversified domestic “short/long” equity fund. The firm’s principals recently finalized a transaction to co-manage and assume a large ownership stake in GeoCapital, a traditional long-only money management firm in the separate-account business.

Buckland Partners will take occupancy of 3,289 square feet on the second floor of 500 Mamaroneck, for a term of five years.

500 Mamaroneck offers a very high level of service and amenities, and its location – near the Mamaroneck train station and major highways – makes it extremely convenient for our employees, as well as for visiting clients,” says James Shifren, president at Buckland Partners. “We look forward to our new home.”

“Less than 30 minutes from Manhattan by train or car, and located closer to I-95 and the Hutchinson River Parkway than any other suburban trophy building, 500 Mamaroneck is a magnet for high-quality tenants seeking proximity to suburban markets and easy access to New York City,” says Mr. Newman. “We are delighted to welcome Buckland Partners to our prestigious tenant roster.”

Malkin Construction will build out the space for the new tenant.

Mr. Newman and senior leasing associate Kimberly Zaccagnino represented the landlord in this transaction. Matthew Lisk of Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant.

The building, comprising dual “center core” pods, subdivides well for multiple users within each pod, with unit size availabilities as small as 1,100 square feet.

In 2002, 500 Mamaroneck received The Office Building of the Year Award (“TOBY”) from the Building Owners and Managers Association of Westchester County.
